Under 12 Girls vs East Malvern White (R3)

8 May 2017 by HRJ

After the first game under the bright lights of Boss James, the Under 12 Girls Rovers team kicked off their second game under the glare of Channel 10’s cameras! Talk about pressure!! And now thanks to Fev, I understand the scoring system of 19 points equals 19 wins!!! Yay!

We had some cracking moments, the ball cracked into Daisy’s face, Laura cracked into just about everyone on the Malvern team and Mia S had a crack at goal and SCOOOOORRRED!!! Then Katie proudly passed Billie off to the nearest responsible parent and ran around screaming GO ROVERS!!! All right, that part didn’t happen but should have!

We had goals from Lottie and Daisy too and Daisy is well on her way to trademarking her dive roll.

Leigh’s guidance was again spectacular and sent Mika running in both the right and wrong directions.

Defensively Mia K, Mia S, Laura, Lottie, Elicia, Eloise, Lily, Emily and Mika were like that rash you just can’t shake and never gave up on their quest for the ball.

Unfortunately despite her Buddy like efforts at putting more points on the board Aliah’s goal was disallowed for being, well, too good, but it’s okay we’ve started a petition on change.org The real travesty here though, is that I was told to keep this short, which means that every girl doesn’t get the shout out she deserves.

In fairness to each and every parent you can honestly say that your girl was outstanding and if they keep improving like this every time they step out there and listening to our great coaching team, a win is just around the corner.

Honourable mention goes out to Pete Flockart for theatrical umpiring and enthusiastic arm criss crossy calls…..holding the ball I’m told.

Go Rovers!
