Under 14 Div 3 vs Murrumbeena (R9)

28 June 2017 by HRJ

What a start to Sunday it was! The boys to their credit seemed incredibly switched on and excited about Sunday’s game and the way they attacked the first quarter certainly reflected it.

Kicking to, what we expected to be the ‘tough’ end, we led the opposition 3 goals to zip heading into quarter time. Hugo Lynch & Will Garbelotto led the charge in the first quarter both managing goals for their efforts. The back line was superb in repelling any forward movements from the opposition.

From here unfortunately we remained scoreless through the middle half of the game before rallying in the last quarter. It feels like the same as the last report I wrote as I look at the score line and realise taking out the 3rd quarter we lost by a point!

So what can we learn?

  • We have to play four quarters.
  • I thought our ball movement in the first and fourth quarters was excellent and from now on that is how we have to play the entire game.
  • Our tackling for the most part was brilliant particularly Lucas, Ollie, Will G.
  • We are still missing easy shots – let’s get this right!

Looking forward to a tough hit out against Oakleigh this week.

Let’s bring our game faces to training and most importantly Sunday and ensure we get a win on the board next week!

Angus Graham
