Under 14 Div 3 vs Waverley Park Hawks (R13)

1 August 2017 by HRJ

I said it after the game and I’ll say it again now, I could not be prouder of the 14 boys that took the field on Sunday.
A lot was asked of you and you certainly delivered outnumbered and outsized.

I gave you a game plan and that was executed to perfection in the first quarter.
Special mention to Ozzy who was a crucial part of this and took on the role of 1/2 forwards brilliantly.

We ran and carried the football beautifully and I think I ran out of fingers to count the time Sam Flockart, Sam Stewart or Will Garbs put on the afterburners and took off on a run up the wing.
Not only this but our foot skills have improved significantly. Our ability to hit up 15/20 metre targets effectively has improved out of sight over the course of the season.

Harry Officer & Angus Perkins stood up to take over the captaincy responsibility and ran themselves silly all day, both kicking 2 goals.
Well done to James Chadwick & Charlie Wilson who got down to support the team even though they were unable to play.

The backs stood tall all day and repelled countless attacks.

There were no passengers on Sunday and I was super proud driving away from the ground.
Let’s turn up ready to back it up this Sunday against Highett and put them on the back foot from the opening bounce.

Well done boys – see you Wednesday for some fun!

Angus Graham
