Under 15 Div 4 vs Cheltenham (R11)

19 July 2017 by HRJ

This week the boys took on Cheltenham, one of the tops sides in the competition and the victor last time we played them by 7 goals.

In a very breezy game, our boys kicked with the wind in the first quarter however couldn’t capitalise on the advantage, kicking 1 goal and 4 behinds for the quarter.

A better second quarter saw us hold Cheltenham to 1 goal, but again we could not put scores on the board with the wind in the third and trailed by 4 points at three quarter time.

Despite a valiant effort, Cheltenham proved too much for us with the wind in the last and eventually ran out winners 7.7.49 to 3.9.27.

Despite the result, there were plenty of positives to take out of the game. Will Filer and Dion Hatziladas were strong defensively in their first games back in a few weeks, whilst Max Miller continued to provide a forward line target. Austin Zagame, Oscar Page and James Bull led from the front again, whilst guys like Will Saint John, Matt Wilson and Brodie O’Neil all competed strongly.
