Under 9 Purple vs East Malvern (R12)

28 July 2017 by HRJ

Well hello there, it’s Al the coach here!

I know I’ve been very slack… so slack that I can’t even remember the last report I did!… Sorry about that.

On the other hand, our boys were anything but slack on the weekend. Every player in that oval (quarter size oval anyway) who wore the Rovers’ jumper put their 110% on the field and it was great to watch.

Yes, we lost, but the last time we played this team they beat us by nearly 30 points, this week by 2 goals – that is a pretty good improvement would you not agree!

I think in my report back in RND 5 I mentioned we needed to play as a team, support our mates and play to each other’s strengths… That was exactly what the boys did on Sunday, played smart team footy, and knew exactly where to run or make space for a kick or a hand pass to go their way…. Are there areas our boys can improve? – you bet, the best thing about losing a game is that hopefully we can learn from it and to try and improve for the following game.

I have not mentioned any boys on my report this week, because it really was a team effort by all. Awards will be handed out this Thursday and with only 2 weeks left of footy please try and make training and finish off the season with a bang!!

See you all at training.

Al.
