On a cold and wet Sunday afternoon, the Rovers’ spirit shone through as our U8-U12 players conducted the annual door-knock for the Salvation Army’s Red Shield Appeal.
This was the 17th year Rovers have supported the Red Shield Appeal. It’s a true “whole Club” contribution to the community, with Senior players also “rattling tins” at local intersections. Whilst the tally of money raised is yet to be finalised, it will add to over $150,000 Hampton Rovers have raised for the Salvation Army over previous years.
UPDATE: the tally is complete – on Sunday Hampton Rovers raised over $16,000 for the Red Shield Appeal. This is the largest amount ever raised by our Club for the Salvos!
We particularly liked this comment from one of the parents:
“The kids had an absolute ball doing the door knock on Sunday! (The adults had a bit of fun too – I highly recommend doing it together, Vanessa and I chatted and giggled into our coffee as we walked around!)”
Well done Players and parents – thank-you, you are wonderful.
