The football season for 2018 has started, how fantastic is that!! We kicked off the round one weekend in style with they biggest launch event we have run to date. A massive thanks to Tania Marshall for being the driving force behind the event. It was amazing to see so many people come and support the club. It was even better to see how much fun the kids had on the night. The feedback we have received has been really positive. I would also like to thank those that helped on the evening, especially those that jumped behind the bar and in the canteen to help through the crazy busy periods. The club fun and engagement will continue the community and Rovers family spirit this Friday with Rovers Local and in future weeks with our At Home With The Rovers events so please look out for more details. Don’t forget to block June 2nd for the Rovers Club Ball as it will be a sell out.
After perfect weather for an outdoor launch, the Melbourne Winter greeted our kids and game day volunteers on Sunday. Whilst the rain and wind dampened the grounds, and the supporting family members, it did not dampen the enthusiasm of our players. What a fantastic day of football it was. We kicked off Castlefield with our under 8s which is always a highlight for me. It was a full day at both of our home grounds with a real mix of results and some very competitive football. The most important take away was the spirit and respect in which the game was played. I was proud to witness the teamwork and fair play that was evident in all age groups from our smallest to our oldest players. It’s a credit to you all and I look forward to round two with the same enthusiasm as this week.
For those that have enquired about merchandise including umbrellas, they are coming. Shortly, the website and newsletters will have the details on where to buy your Rovers merchandise. It’s a great way to support the club and be part of the Rovers Community #gorovers.
Passion, Teamwork, Fun, Respect.
Kind Regards
Jason
