The Rovers made the journey to Port Melbourne in their round three away game against the Port Colts.
Having never played them before it was sensational that the Rovers got off to a flying start with a 5 goal – 0 first quarter. This was achieved by a strong defence and some great passages of play from our boys in the centre and forward zones.
The Colts matched us in the second quarter, which for the first time this year our back-line was under pressure and put to work. One passage of play started in the back pocket and through some great teamwork and accurate passing, resulted in one of the team goals of the year.
It was a tight third quarter, the Rovers adding 1.4 to their score line to the Colts, zero.
In the fourth quarter the Rovers continued to move the ball well by hand and foot, with great teamwork.
