It was quite the eventful weekend for Rovers combined with Mother Nature illustrating the real winter football weather was coming very soon. Thanks to all those that helped with the Red Shield Appeal on Sunday and in the lead up to it. Hampton Rovers has contributed to this important day for many many years and it’s important part of our club culture and the community focus we have as a club. It was fantastic to see respect paid over the weekend of the indigenous round and national volunteers week. Passion, Teamwork, Fun and RESPECT.
The end of the grading rounds now allows us to formally plan out the year of football ahead. With the final draws release in the coming days please can you make sure you tell your team managers and coaches if you are unavailable to play. Planning in advance for holiday period is very important not only for you individually but also to the player movement that happens during this period. We had an unfortunate situation last year where some players helped the club and played ‘up’ only to become ineligible to play for their own teams as the approached finals. With your assistance we want this to not impact our kids again.
It’s fantastic to report that there are only 40 tickets for our biggest event of the year (tickets are now sold out). Please book today to avoid disappointment. It really is going to be bigger and better than previous years. For our younger age groups, attending the event is a great way to meet people across the age groups that are part of the broader Rovers Community. Thanks to those taking the initiative and organising team tables !!!
We are still looking for more goods and services to be donated on the night. Please reach out via our contact page if you or your company are interested in helping the club and being advertised to over 600 local families.
Finally – please keep the photos coming in each week. If you can find a volunteer in your team each week to send 2 or 3 photos of the game to us that would be great. The kids really do love seeing the actions shots of each other during the week.
Looking forward to seeing you all out and about this weekend.
Best Regards
Jason
