Well there was no sight of ‘end of term-itus’ as we played against Oakleigh at home. We had strong legs, a lot of enthusiasm and goals in every quarter from our team. The boys (Hannah is on holidays at the moment) ran out strong, supported by some great players who were playing up from the U8s. It was a cold but very sunny morning at Castlefield and perfect for the first game of the day!!
We started the game well with two goals in the first quarter and from then on, we kept it up through the whole game. There was a super special goal in the second quarter from one of our U8 helpers, Drew Skinner. All of the U8 players really stepped up and played with great confidence. Each quarter brought more goals for the Hampton Rovers, which was ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!!
All of the kids did a really good job to avoid the super muddy section in the middle of the ground and to keep the ball moving forward. Oakleigh gave us a great game but we kept pushing forward and passing the ball around well, with great team work and some super goals.
Sam and Dan were super happy with everyone’s performance, perseverance and skills throughout the whole game. Everyone played a full four quarters and tried their best. Sam and Dan gave a HUGE thanks to the U8s and said it was one of the best games we had played. We all get a break now for the holidays and will be back, raring to go for training on 10th July. Happy holidays everyone and GO ROVERS!!!!
