Hello Rovers Families,
Welcome to Round 4 of the season. This Sunday, our Hampton Rovers Juniors will be playing on Mother’s Day. From the Rovers Committee, we send a massive shout out to all of the Mums on their special day. Thank you for everything you do for your Rovers players and our Club throughout the season – whether it be getting your players to training and games, providing encouragement on the sidelines, or volunteering your time. Our Rovers community is a village, and we appreciate your support.
You are encouraged to celebrate Mother’s Day at one of the games on Sunday, but please remember that all games are alcohol-free events (so no cheeky champagne breakfasts, sorry).
As well as celebrating Mother’s Day on Sunday, it will be the MarketPlace Fresh Round. MarketPlace are proud partners of the Healthy Club Canteens project, of which we are a member of. We have implemented the program at our canteens at Boss James Reserve and Castlefield Reserve. If you haven’t already, I encourage you to see Zoe and the team for a delicious soup, salad roll or a kombucha. But don’t worry, there are also the fan favourites of hot dogs and dim sims. There may even be a special little something from Bakers Delight for the Mother’s Day weekend.
Finally, a big thanks to all the parents and members who attended our first social function of the year – Comedy for a Cause – last Saturday night. We had around 110 people in the room (sold out!) with four fine, hilarious comedians. There we lots of laughs and it was a great opportunity to catch up with friends for a drink over a Picasso’s pizza (sponsor plug!) – especially as we weren’t able to get together last year. We raised more than $3,000 for the Club through this fundraising initiative. Thank you again. The biggest thanks go to Lara, our Social Coordinator, for organising such a fun night.
If you missed out, fear not. We have another great night planned in 31 July – involving disco and laughs. I can’t wait.
Wishing you all a great weekend. Good luck on Sunday and Happy Mother’s Day.
Go Rovers
