President’s Report – Second half of the season

10 July 2021 by Rohan Bardwell

Welcome to the second half of the season

Hello Rovers Families,

I hope everyone is well and many of you were able to get away with the family for some quality time together over the school holidays.

We’ve hit the half-way mark
This weekend will see the second half of the season get underway. Depending on your age group, we have around eight rounds of footy to go (U11+), which is exciting. Given Victoria is in a reasonably good place in regard to managing COVID outbreaks, I’m keeping my fingers crossed that we will get through the rest of the season unscathed. I encourage all parents and kids to embrace each game as it comes along. Enjoy the game and have fun!

OpenCorp – help raise $$$ for HRJ and learn something too!
As you’d be aware, sponsors play a critical role in financially supporting community-based sporting clubs and associations. Property investment specialists, OpenCorp, are a major partner of the SMJFL Community Fund. By way of partnership, OpenCorp has contributed $75,000 to the SMJFL Community Fund to support local footy clubs.

On Wednesday 28 July at 7.30pm, OpenCorp will come to the Boss James Reserve Club Rooms to host a Property Investment Insights event. Based on attendance, HRJ will receive further financial support via the SMJFL Community Fund. I encourage you all to attend this event that will provide great insights into how to get the most out of the property investment market. There are further details in this week’s newsletter or by jumping on the OpenCorp website. Please also make sure you register.

Enjoy your Sunday!
I hope everyone enjoys being back on the field this weekend. I’ll be stepping in as Assistant Coach for my son’s team as the Coach will still be on his much-deserved holiday and the Assistant Coach swaps the green bib for the red. I must say, I can’t wait to be back shuffling magnets on the whiteboard for one game this year!
