Firstly, I’d like to congratulate the 14 Hampton Rovers and merge teams that have made the finals this season. It’s a wonderful achievement to see so many of our players experiencing finals again with their teammates.
For the teams who didn’t make the finals we are extremely proud of your efforts & participation throughout the year, and we hope you had an enjoyable season.
To parents, extended families and friends who will be attending games, finals always bring an extra element of excitement, anticipation and at times tension, please remember it’s an exciting time for all teams – but no matter the result, or situation we expect parents and volunteers to uphold the values of the Hampton Rovers Football club. Barack for your team and be respectful to opposition spectators, volunteers and teams. Any issues on game day should be raised with your team managers who will address it with the opposing team manager – that includes any opposition spectator behaviours.
Also remember that while the SMJFL allocates more experienced umpires to the games, they are not always going to get decisions right. The majority of umpires are under 18 years of age. Please ensure we support our umpires and respect their decisions.
For this years finals series the SMJFL has developed some guidelines around photography and videography that we have detailed below. Please make yourself familiar with these guidelines. Your team managers will also provide you with more details.
