ICYMI: Rovers’ Highlights from the Last Week

6 June 2017 by Richard Bowen

Missed a few posts, didn’t see our updates on Facebook or Instagram? Well, here’s what happened:

  • Because the Queen has other ways for us to celebrate her birthday, Rovers’ Local will NOT be open this Friday 9 June but will be back on Friday 16 June.
  • It was foggy on the weekend.
  • That picture was big on Instagram, Facebook and the SMJFL Social Spot for Round 7.
  • The SMJFL also liked Tayla, Scarlett, Gabi and Holly hair-braiding before their game. That’s the picture below.
  • We had two milestone games this week … and both were for Mitch … Mitch Lever in U14s and Mitch Hall in U16s.
  • There were no change rooms for the U12 Girls who played away this round, but that meant the girls could belt out the song loud and proud in the sun.
  • Earlier in the day Tara wasn’t going to let her dog get cold.
  • And thanks to our wonderful parent photographers we have a great pictorial record of Round 7!
  • And once more for the Red Shield Appeal … the Mayor of Bayside presented us with certificates acknowledging Rovers’ contribution of the Red Shield Appeal … now $165K over the last 17 years. Well done to all our Players and parents!
