Our 2023 Season Has Kicked Off

5 May 2023 by Rohan Bardwell

Message from the President

What a night! Last Friday, we kicked off the season with style at our official season launch. Hundreds of Hampton Rovers Juniors players, families and friends came down to the Boss, despite the rain, to connect and celebrate the start of our 2023 season.

There were smiles and fist pumps from our Under 8s who received their official Hampton Rovers Juniors footy bags! A massive thanks to Jade Ghoukassian and her trusty helpers who organised the presentation, and a shout out to all the parents who helped make the presentation special for their players with lots of cheers and encouragement. We even had the Chairman of the SMJFL, Richard Bowen, participate in the presentation.

The raffle was a hit, as well as the merch sales. Our canteen was pumping, especially when the Picasso Pizzas arrived, and the barbeque was firing.

Above all, the highlight was the delight of the kids that enjoyed the St Kilda Inflatable in the rain, and those that were kicking the footy under the Boss lights. My apologies for the mountain of washing that would have been required by the end of the night!

For those that came along, you would have heard me give a special shout out to the parents of our U8s, U9s and U10s. As a club that is run 100% by volunteers, it is important that we have involvement from parents across all age groups. There are a number of Committee and essential roles that will be retiring over the next few months, so we are keen to engage with new parents as quickly as we can to take over these critical roles. Without these positions being filled, we are unable to safely get close to 550 players out onto the ground week in, week out. If you are interested in helping the club (and your kids) please get in contact.

See you around the grounds this weekend.

Rohan Bardwell
President
