Hampton Rovers Juniors fully endorse the SMJFL Play Fair campaign. Launched in May 2017, we believe that Play Fair aligns with Rovers values of
PASSION – TEAMWORK – FUN – RESPECT
So, what does it mean to PLAY, COACH and SUPPORT FAIR?
- FUN – Show sportsmanship to help everyone enjoy the game
- APPRECIATION – Recognise the worth of others from all religious and cultural background (even if they are different to yours)
- INCLUSION – Practice inclusiveness regardless of gender, sexuality, disability, cultural background, socio-economic status or football ability
- RESPECT – Treat other’s how you’d like to be treated
Yes, Fun and Respect are elements of both the Rovers’ values and Play Fair!
In both cases we are about the whole Club: the Players, the Coaches, other Volunteers and the Parents.
Coaches have been discussing Play Fair with Players, but we encourage Parents to also ask their children … what does Play Fair mean to you?
