What a weekend last weekend was! A massive congratulations to the coaching staff and players of the U11 Mixed Div 5 and U12 Girls Div 3 teams for their brilliant performances last weekend on winning their respective grand finals. Check out the girls and the boys singing their Rovers theme song – you won’t be disappointed!
Unfortunately, our other grand finalists, U11 Mixed Div 1, U12 Mixed Div 2 and U13 Mixed Div 1, didn’t come home with a flag. But to even make it to the grand final is a huge effort – congratulations on a great season and for representing the Hampton Rovers with such pride!
We now turn to this Sunday where we have three teams who have made it to the grand final:
- U14 Girls Div 3 team will be playing Mordialloc Braeside at Mentone Reserve at 9.00am
- East Sandringham Rovers U15 Boys Div 3 (merged Hampton Rovers and East Sandy teams) will be against St Bedes/Mentone at Columbia Park at 1.00pm, and
- East Sandringham Rovers U16 Boys Div 4 will play Brighton Beach at McKinnon Reserve – Ground 1 at 9am.
Best of luck! Please get out the support our teams with a hearty Go Rovers! Hopefully, there will be more premiership flags to add the wins of last weekend.
On Sunday there will also be some superb matches to watch at Boss James Reserve – Interleague games for both the girls and the boys, as well as the U17.5 Boys Div 1 final and the U18 Girls Div 1 final.
After the games, the bar at The Boss will open to celebrate the end of the season. Come on down to celebrate with your mates from the club at around 5pm.
Happy Father’s Day for the dads out there for Sunday. Lots of footy action to keep you occupied!
Go Rovers

Don’t worry – there’s more. Sandy Little Aths starts 8 October
The Sandringham Little Athletics Club are taking registrations for their upcoming season, starting on 8 October 2022. They actively teach U6 – U17 age groups the fundamental skills that form the basis of many sports: Running, Jumping and Throwing. The sessions are FUN and focused on personal best athletic development.
We are also fortunate that the Hampton Rovers Juniors will again partner with the Sandringham Little Athletics Club in February – March 2023, for the TS4A Preseason Fitness Training sessions for girls and boys. These sessions were held at the Thomas Street Little Athletics track, Hampton. We will provide more details and information early in the new year – but this is a great opportunity to get fit and ready for the footy season. Our thanks to Sandy Little Aths for supporting the Hampton Rovers Juniors!
