Robert Connor Dawes Foundation Round
It was great to see so many of our members and players supporting the Robert Connor Dawes Foundation – the official charity of the SMJFL – last week.
On Sunday I had the pleasure of meeting the founders of the Foundation (Connor’s Parents). This was a humble reminder of what we all have in our lives and why we as volunteers enjoy creating a safe environment for our kids to enjoy a sport they love.
On behalf of the Hampton Rovers and the RCD Foundation thanks to all those who contributed and volunteered across the weekend. You can still support RCD directly via their website and can contribute to those doing Connor’s Run in September. All of the Nicholl family will be run/walking for this event!
Lightning Carnivals
We had a great weekend of football with the sun shining and some loud and proud singing of our club song. Sadly it was the final home and away round for our littlest ones who head into the the lightning carnivals this weekend. Good luck to our under 8s and 9s this weekend! We look forward to seeing the awards for the day and hear the coaches talk us through the ups and downs of the day at our final At Home With The Rovers on Sunday afternoon. Whilst we will still have the presentations in coming weeks for these ages it will be a celebration of the end of a great year of footy so please get to the games if you can during the day and attend Sunday afternoon to hear our yrs 8-9 kids sing the song for the final time in 2017.
At Home with the Rovers – this Sunday
This Sunday the 6th of August at 4.30pm we have our final AHWTR for 2017. Please get down and support the club as it promises to be the best event this year. There will be food on the night to feed the family and many of the AHWTR favourites including the prized raffle. I look forward to seeing you all there.
SMJFL Finals at Boss James
Lastly I would like to proudly announce the Boss James has been selected by the SMJFL to host finals footy this year. This is a great way for the club to finish of the season financially with the promise of strong days in canteen and other fund raisers. To make the days run as smoothly possible can I please ask for volunteers to contact me directly Jason.nicholl@hamptonrovers.com.au if you can spend an hour on a BBQ, be a Ground Manager, Support Scoring etc. In order to make it easier on everyone the more volunteers we get the better.
See you all on Sunday at the lightning carnivals and at AHWTR.
