Presidents Report – Finals Round One

22 August 2017 by Jason Nicholl

What an amazing day Sunday turned out to be on all fronts. We had the pleasure as a club to showcase Boss James and host Division 1 finals for the U16 and 17s. It was great to hear from so many people that we have one of the best facilities in the SMJFL. With upgrades to our change rooms both at Castlefield and Boss James scheduled over the next few years, there will be no better place for our kids to enjoy footy than with Hampton Rovers Football Club. Thanks to all those that volunteered and helped across the weekend to ensure the grounds were ready and the day was a success. A special mention to the rookie Dads from the Battle of the Boots game who turned up at 7am on Sunday as promised to help clean up after a fantastic game of Dad’s footy on Saturday.

The highlight of the weekend was by far the three teams we had in the finals who all did themselves incredibly proud. We had three of three teams making it to the grand final. The U11 D5 boys and U12 D3 girls play this Sunday and the U17 boys play the week after. Please make sure you get down and watch the games where you can. The Under 12 Girls play at 8.45am and straight after them are the Under 11 Boys at 10.45am. Both games are at King George Reserve in Bentleigh.

I would finally like to thank all those parents impacted for their patience as we have had to make a few changes to the Presentation Day this weekend in order to allow parents, siblings, friends and extended family to get to the grand final games and cheer on our teams. If you need to check your time for presentation please speak to your team manager.

Good luck to our teams this week!

PASSION – TEAMWORK – FUN – RESPECT

Jason
