President’s Report – Round 10

29 June 2018 by Jason Nicholl

After “Rain-a-geddon” the previous week seeing record purchases of our fantastic Rovers umbrellas, this week saw drier football weather again. This round is one of the toughest in the year as we try and juggle the teams and volunteers to cope with our members having some family time away. Whilst it’s a lot of work for a lot of people it does make you realise what a fantastic Rovers community we are all privileged to be a part of. Thanks to all those that play extra games, volunteered for other teams, our coaches and committee that spent many hours getting games to happen. Thank you.

With many changes in a lot of our teams the results were significantly mixed with big wins and big losses. Whilst the results this round were not all as important to me (and Caggs) as Collingwood and Carlton #gopies, the intent in which our teams went about their football was once again a credit to the boys and girls we have at our club. Sportsmanship, Passion and most importantly Fun was evident across the day.

With the big break now upon us please enjoy time with your families before we return for the final rounds of the year.

Have you enjoyed your time at Rovers? Are you interested in helping us in 2019. Yes, now is the time to become part of the team and learn roles ahead of 2018. Please give it some consideration. We need 250 volunteers to run our club week in week out. Please consider joining the team and give to our club so YOUR kids can play. Please enquirer here.

See you all after the break.

Passion, Teamwork, Fun, Respect

Jason
