The weekend saw the return of many of our players from the winter holiday season myself included. With plenty of great football being played over the weekend it was great to witness the progression of all of our teams relative to where they all started at the beginning of the year. With the season’s conclusion coming soon I sure all of our kids will make the most of of the final rounds to play the game they enjoy with their teammates.
Seeing a number of away games on the weekend, I was reminded again just how lucky we are to have the playing surfaces we do at Hampton Rovers. With the modernisation of our club facilities starting at the end of this year we really will have best in class facilities for our kids in the coming seasons. Castlefield and Boss James Reserve are certainly going to be a great place to play football for many years to come.
As we approach the end of the season (especially for our younger groups), I have a number of asks of our families and volunteers please:
- Please remember to send in pictures so we can capture more moments of our kids having fun. You can do this by emailing info@hamptonroversjuniors.com.au or texting pics to Lisa on 0409952071 with the name of the team.
- Ensure you check our social calendar for our final events AHWTR (Sunday, 6 August) and Season Presentations and get down to the Rovers Local on a Friday.
- Volunteers wanted – as we get to the back end of 2017 we do need to think about 2018 briefly. If you are interested in helping the Rovers in 2018 – why not help out in the final rounds to explore how you can help make a difference to our kids and club.
- Feedback – As a volunteer run club we are always looking for ways to improve what we do every year. Please let us know what you like and and where we can improve. Hit us up on our Contact page.
This weekend will see our teams return to full strength after the holiday season and it will result in some great football. I encourage you all (especially those playing at home) to get to the game a little early or stay a little later after the game and enjoy supporting other teams.
