Round 13 saw us back in full swing at Castlefield after resting the ground for a few weeks. Thanks to everyone for your patience while we moved games and training to look after our amazing facilities. Weather again played its part on Sunday with a dry day for most. Congrats to our teams for some great football on the weekend. The round also was dedicated to recognising the TAC and the importance of teaching our kids about road safety. Thanks to Jeff Goldsmith for donating driving lessons as part of the club awareness program we did for the TAC.
Lightning for the lightning carnivals
This week our youngest age groups head into the round robins that mark the end of their season. Well done to all of you for how much you have improved and the life-long friends you have made. Good luck to all of our kids playing this weekend in the colder conditions. See you all back at Boss James after the games have finished to wrap up your year.
This Sunday at 5.30pm will be our final At Home With The Rovers event for the season. Please make every effort to come on down to The Boss. The U8 and U9 families will be celebrating the end of their season, while others will be gearing up for finals. Come on down and celebrate.
Game Day Sponsors
As we go through the final rounds of the home and away season I’d like to recognise the local businesses that support us so generously every game day. Picasso Pizza, Cold Rock Hampton, and Grill’d all donate awards to each of our teams weekly. This equates to around $5000 each sponsor. Join me in supporting the businesses that support the club – visit their businesses, enjoy their delights, and say thank you for supporting the Rovers.
Finals Football at Rovers
We have been lucky enough to be asked to have finals at Boss James again this year. This means we will have some amazing games at our grounds late into the year. It also means we would love some volunteers to help on game day as ground marshals. Please contact us if you can do an hour during the final three weeks of the season.
Good luck to our littlest ones this weekend. I really hope you enjoy the games and if lucky get to sing the song a few more times on the weekend. See you back at the club on Sunday from 5.30pm.
