President’s Report – Round 14

10 August 2018 by Jason Nicholl

I woke on Sunday with a big spring in my step on several fronts:

  1. I was not travelling for work, as I was the previous Sunday, so I could watch the smiles of our Rovers players
  2. The sun was shining, unlike my childhood memories of footy
  3. I was able to watch both of my kids play footy
  4. The lightning carnivals for our U8/9s finished off a wonderful season for our youngest Rovers

What a great feeling and a great day.

I was very happy to see a number of games during the day on Sunday across many age groups. A special congrats to our teams in the lightning carnivals for the spirit and enthusiasm in which the games were played. It was also great to hear the Rovers song sung loud and proud too. Well done to our younger Rovers for an awesome 2018, it’s been an absolute pleasure having you all as part of the Rovers family.

On Sunday night we had our final At Home With The Rovers which is always a great night. Thanks to all those that came down to support the club and enjoy the great atmosphere in our great social facilities. Thanks to Tania Marshall for the hard work bringing the fun to Rovers events this year. Awesome work Tan, we know how hard you have worked and really appreciate it!!

As I didn’t manage to do a report last week (sorry), I would like to acknowledge the Auskick and Juniors parents that make the Rovers Senior lunch on the previous Saturday. It was one of the biggest Rovers lunch for many years with 120 people. Congrats to the prize winners for the raffles. The last Seniors lunch is this Saturday if you want to go again or go for the first time. Get down and support the club with an amazing lunch.

Finally, as the season starts to head towards its conclusion, please take the time to thank the volunteers that we are so privileged to have at our club. Being part of the Rovers Family is indeed a great thing so embrace it.

Passion Teamwork Fun Respect.

Best Regards

Jason
