Another week of great football weather greeted our teams this week. It’s great to see our volunteers now starting to get in the swing of their game day duties. If you are interested in getting involved with the club please reach out to me directly or via our website. Many hands make for light work. It is a great way to meet people in the community and most importantly it’s all about the kids!
The football again was played in a fantastic spirit which aligned beautifully to the SMJFL’s Play Fair weekend. Well done Rovers for showcasing the club in such a great way and living up to our mantra of Passion, Teamwork, Fun and Respect.
Many of our teams are now finding their rhythm and a number of good results are being posted. Most importantly the smiles and fun is what it’s all about and we are seeing plenty of that as we watch the different age groups. We have even managed to attract more players. Please let us know if your friends want to join.
Congratulations to our U12 Girls parents and volunteers for supporting the change from 2 teams to 3. It’s all about the kids. On the weekend we were able to give more of our U12 girls game time by re-organising our teams. Thanks to all involved and to the kids for supporting the change is such a positive way. We even heard that lovely Rovers song sung!!! Well done girls.
This week marks the final week before league regrading. Our coaches and committee will work with the league to try and ensure our teams end up in the right divisions to ensure we continue the enjoyment for our kids. This re-grading does often mean we get to find out about round 5 games mid week so please look out for it. Beyond Round 5 will be posted soon after but it may be in the 5th week that we know the final draws for the seasons overall. Our website will always have up to date information on the location of your games.
Get your orders in for merchandise now via our website. All of the caps, hoodies, training tops etc etc are now all available online.
Finally – you will have seen the save the date for the 2nd of June. Tickets will be going on sale very soon so please watch our social media channels (Facebook, Instagram), and our website for more details. Places are limited and based on the success of last year tickets will run out so please don’t be disappointed.
