President’s Report – Round 4

9 May 2018 by Jason Nicholl

When I walked around the grounds on Sunday I again marvelled at how lucky we are at Hampton Rovers on a number of fronts.

Firstly – We have the best facilities by far in my humble opinion and they are just getting better. On Sunday we gave our younger age groups the chance to play side by side on Boss James – a thrill for our little ones. Castlefield and Boss James continue to be very very good surfaces for playing football on. I can’t wait for our facilities upgrades to be finished to top it all off. These grounds really allow us to see some amazing fast and skilful football.

Secondly – Our volunteers are second to none. I once again visited games at both home and away locations. The dedication and professionalism of our club volunteers and those that co-ordinate them must be commended and I hope our parents and kids get the opportunity to THANK THEM regularly. Our teams all have the roles we need to run a safe, inclusive and encouraging environment. I witnessed on the weekend an opposition team that had no umpire escort, nor team trainer. The team in question had these roles being played by the coach and assistant which is not only impractical, it is not really what we need for the safety and management of the kids and games. Many hands make light work and allow us to continue to offer the support we need. Please if you are interested in helping please contact us via the website. We need your help.

Finally – Our major event for 2018 is now open for tickets. This is a whole club event that will be fantastic. Please get your tickets ASAP to avoid disappointment. We have less tickets than last year so it will sell out. The purpose of the event is not only to have copious amounts of fun but also support the club. Please support the Rovers and attend and enjoy yourself in the process. We urgently seek donations for auction items. As a major fund raiser for the club – any or all donations are most welcome and will support the club into the future.

See you all out and about.

Passion, Teamwork, Fun and Respect.

Jason
