It was great to see so many teams be competitive on the weekend after the grading rounds and allocations have finished. Most importantly the smiles on the faces was what it’s all about. Congrats to all those that sung the song with gusto on Sunday.
It was a great weekend for Rovers even though the weather wasn’t always the best. We kicked off Friday night with a packed agenda at Boss James across Training, Rovers Senior Women playing under lights, the Rovers Local, Pie and Pizza nights. #OneRovers at its best. Saturday saw Auskick in the morning with over 150 kids now and over 30 girls now making up the numbers; its fantastic to see the grass roots continuing to build. It was also great to see the Senior Women helping volunteer at Auskick. The Senior Men played mostly at home on Saturday afternoon having their 6th win in a row (6-0 for the season). In addition the Rovers Home Lunch was focussed on the Mums with over 120 people attending one of the biggest lunches of the year. Sunday heralded better weather with a packed football schedule at Boss James to use the facilities while Castlefield continues to be finalised. All in all from Auskick to Seniors it was a great weekend.
Off the field a lot is happening too with squad photos coming up, At Home With The Rovers (AHWTR) this Friday, and the Rovers GALA rapidly approaching on the 2nd of June. I would really like to see as many of you at the club on Friday night for AHWTR which starts at 5pm with Pizza from Picasso’s on offer to feed the family.
With respect to the GALA evening we had 25% of the tickets sell in the first few days so please get online today and get yours. Supporting AHWTR and the GALA allow us to provide services such as our dedicated Medics in Colbrow at all of our home games. Please come down and support our events. We also have a call out for any auction items you could donate for us to have as part of our silent action bonanza at the GALA.
Finally – It’s been really great to see all of the effort that has gone into our new merchandise start to pay off with kids and parents representing the Green and Gold army in our merchandise not only on game day and at training but all around town. If you have yet to get your hoodies, hats, training tops and many other items please go to our online store on the website.
See you all on Friday night I hope.
Regards
Jason
