President’s Report – Round 6

29 May 2017 by Jason Nicholl

After a run of amazing weather, typical football conditions arrived on Sunday for many of our teams. Our Under 16 Girls played through the hail to secure another great win. In fact, it was an historic weekend, with wins for all our female teams (U12s, U16 and Senior Women). Congratulations all!

Overall we had a mixed bag of results this round. Hopefully, with a full day of games at both Boss James and Castlefield this weekend we will take advantage of our home grounds and earn our fair share of wins.

Speaking of FAIR, the SMJFL have launched their Play Fair campaign and we are right behind it. Coaches will be reinforcing the Play Fair message – it is aligned to our now familiar club mantra of Passion Teamwork Fun Respect.

Although it has already been communicated, can I just reiterate my thanks, on behalf of Hampton Rovers, to all those that helped us to make the Red Shield Appeal a fantastic success on Sunday. The amount raised by Hampton Rovers – over $16,000 – is a club record! Great that our Club can give back to those in need.

Finally, with only a month to go before Casino Royale, can you please organise your tickets to our biggest event of 2017. If you haven’t purchased your tickets please do it ASAP to avoid disappointment. It would be fantastic for every team and age group to support the club at this great event. We are working with social co-ordinators in every team to spread the word so you should have plenty of friends from within your team joining you at the event.

I hope to meet more of our families at the club Friday (#RoversLocal), Seniors Lunch, or on Sunday at our many games.

Best Regards

Jason
