It’s all about the kids. It was great to herald the return to Hampton Rovers ‘situation normal’ after an abnormal weekend in round 6. We had no notable incidents of poor or inappropriate behaviour on or off the field in Round 7 and I thank everyone for making this possible. I’m proud to visit our games and watch how the Rovers Family goes about all things football. I often get comments from other clubs on just how great our kids, parents, community and club are and it’s a credit to all of the Rovers Family. Long may it continue.
Round 7 was another fantastic day with our glorious song being sung many times but most of all plenty of smiles and fun throughout the day. Some of our teams managed to get their first wins on the board while others showed us that it’s more than the result that really counts. Well done to all of our teams on the weekend. And a big thank you to the kids and parents who rattled the tins for the Red Shield Appeal.
Off the field we have one of our most important weeks of the year and this one is not about the kids. The Hampton Rovers Gala is on this Saturday night and it will be bigger and better than last year. Thanks to all those that have supported the club and purchased tickets for the night. I would really like to see more junior parents come along and it’s not too late (book here!) These events are one of the best ways to meet parents (and friends) from other age groups and really immerse yourself in the Rovers Spirit. Please can you make every effort to come. It’s events like these that allow us to provide the facility and services we do around the club. We need your support. If you’re unable to make it, please consider donating to our auctions – get in touch with us via our Contact page.
On a final note, good luck to our players that have been selected for inter league games. I hope the coming weeks are rewarding and fun for each of you.
Looking forward to a great weekend on and off the field. #Go Rovers
