Dear valued members and Rovers community – I’m a little late with the report this week after a longer than anticipated recovery period after having an amazing night on Saturday with some amazing Rovers People. We had representation from Auskick, Juniors, Seniors and our major club sponsors on the night #OneRovers.
Firstly, congrats to Tania Marshall and team for putting on such an amazing event this year. Great location, good music, yummy food, and some significantly below par dancing (maybe that was just me). Thanks to all those that supported the club by attending, buying auction items or donating. Having events like these makes some of the task of raising funds for the club a lot more enjoyable than raising fees. For those that couldn’t make the night we still have a number of social gatherings left for the year so please get involved (Rovers Local will be open again from 15 June on Friday nights, At Home With The Rovers #AHWTR will be coming up soon, and we have a Seniors Saturday Lunch just for the Juniors coming up so please watch out for details).
Onto the football – another great weekend and another day of smiles and fun from our Rovers kids. Great to hear the song but most importantly notice how much the kids have improved. A special shout out to Chris Leeds who has been running free skills clinics on Saturday morning at Castlefield for those who want to learn some skills or refine them over and above normal training. I’m not sure how I’m going to avoid the backlog of household chores this weekend with no club football. Lucky there is inter league for a talented group of Rovers players to help me cope. Good luck to our representatives.
To round out the report this week I’m going to point out the half season footy phenomenon to our new members that seems to occur immediately after this long weekend break – The weather does not play nicely!!! If you haven’t already noticed Kabel (Mr Merch) has been busy negotiating with our suppliers to secure Rovers Umbrellas to join the many items that will help you through the second half of the season as the ‘real’ footy weather arrives. Don’t delay and get yours in time for the rain. I must say the Rovers Hoodies this year are good quality and very warm so make sure you get one for yourselves not just the kids.
See you all Sunday week.
Passion Teamwork Fun Respect
Best Regards
Jase
