Hello Rovers families
In what has been a challenging two years, I hope that everyone is healthy and well, and getting organised to close out the year.
With our 2021 season officially closed, and cricket season underway, it’s time to declare ‘third time lucky’ and get ready for the 2022 football season.
2022 season registrations – including discount for returning members
Registrations for the 2022 will open from Wednesday 1 December 2021, on the HRJ website. I am pleased to advise that we are able to offer a discount to returning members for several reasons. The Junior Committee was successful in applying for and receiving several grants to support the financial viability of the club. In addition, the SMJFL have also been able to provide financial assistance to all clubs as part of the SMJFL. Our thanks go to the SMJFL for their support during these challenging times, as well as to the Committee for continuing to pursue grant opportunities for the club.
Also, in acknowledgement of the challenges over the past two years, and as a thanks for the loyalty you have shown, the Junior Committee is pleased to be able to offer a $45.00 discount to all returning members, per registration. This will be a one-off discount for the 2022 season. Just select the ‘Returning Member’ option to have the reduced price applied.
- Early bird registration: $280 – $45 returning member discount = $235 annual registration (note early bird registrations close on 4 February 2022)
- Full registration: $315 – $45 returning member discount = $270 annual registration
New members and families are requested to select the ‘New Member’ option when registering.
A registration email will be sent out shortly.
We will also be making important investments in improved equipment and the enhancing the football program for the 2022 season. We are confident that you will notice some even more significant improvements for the upcoming season.

Team Sports 4 All (TS4A)
As a club, we have partnered with Team Sports 4 All (TS4A) again for the 2022 season. If you are not familiar with TS4A, they are a not-for-profit organisation that helps more than 100 children play sport who otherwise wouldn’t be able to, due to financial circumstances.
To support this wonderful organisation, that helps many players and families at our club and others, you will notice that we have provided you the opportunity to make a donation when you register. Every $ helps – we appreciate any support you can give.
Announcing the ‘pre-preseason’ with Sandringham Athletics and TS4A
In partnership with the Sandringham Athletics Club, we will be organising specialised running and fitness programs during February 2022 for our teenage players to help improve fitness prior to the preseason commencing.
Sandringham Athletics Coaches have offered to develop running programs and will run weekly sessions at the Sandringham Athletics Track (subject to the current redevelopment at the Athletics Track being completed by the end of January).
To participate, we will be requesting a gold cold donation to the TS4A.

Rovers player jumpers
We are yet to receive quite a number of Rovers footy jumpers from this season. These player jumpers are provided as a loan for the playing season, and must be returned to Team Managers to ensure they are available for the following season.
Currently there are around $1,000 worth of Rovers footy jumpers yet to be returned.
If jumpers are not returned by the mid of December, players will be issued an invoice to cover the cost of the jumper. Please get in touch with your Team Manager asap to organise the return of your jumper.
