Take a look at the calendar and you’ll realise that at this time last year, the 2019 season was wrapping up, team presentations were happening and we were thinking of the great things that 2020 would bring. While that hasn’t eventuated, we know that the 2021 season will be here quicker than we know it.
2020 Registration Fees and Refunds
Refunds have hit bank accounts over the last fortnight. SportsTG were able to process all refunds with the exception of around 40 people who had changed their payment. Kate Robb, HRJ Treasurer, has gotten in contact and has made the appropriate arrangements. If for some reason you have an issue with your refund, please get in touch.
Many families have requested their registration fees stay with the Club. If this applies to you, thank you! We would gladly accept this as a donation via the Australian Sports Foundation. Please mention that your donation is for ‘Rovers Juniors’ under ‘Organisation’ in the ‘A Little More Info About You’ section. Donations are tax deductible.
Thank you for what 2020 could have been
I got together with Hampton Rovers Club Chairman Steve Anderson, and Senior President Gary Nash to thank our Rovers community for what has been a difficult 2020 season due to COVID-19. Please check it out here.
Preparing for 2021 – we need you!
The Junior Committee has commenced preparations for 2021. Critical to this is the filling of some essential volunteer roles to help us run the Club – we need to do this with you, for your kids.
Currently, we have five parents who are Junior Committee members…out of more than 550 kids registered to the club, from more than 200 families. Without the essential Junior Committee member roles filled, it will be impossible for us to operate successfully in 2021.
The ask is a few hours a week during the football season and will be a great opportunity to contribute new ideas and strategies for our Junior Club.
The available roles are:
- Junior Secretary: After 4 years, Gavin Sharp is stepping down from this role, given his boys are now playing Seniors. Gavin has done a great job, and we are looking for someone to fill his very big shoes.
- Incident Officer: An important role that investigates (occasional) complaints about inappropriate behavior and ensure they are address sensitively, consistently, fair and confidentially.
- Sponsorship Manager: Working alongside Sean Crisp, our senior sponsorship manager, we are looking for a passionate, community minded person who can work with local businesses to seek their sponsorship of the club.
- Registrations Manager: A key role to get the season up and running is ensuring that our players are appropriately registered and ready to play. Tim Hall has performed this role for a number of years and is ready to pass on the baton.
Please reach out to discuss any of these roles, or another way that you’d like to contribute.
Go Rovers
