The past round recognised players from home and away teams whose actions had the greatest positive impact on the game. Thanks to Options Consulting Group for providing the certificates and we hope all players continue to strive to have a positive impact, whether in the game or at training.
On Saturday night over 200 people attended the years’ major Rovers’ fundraising event, Casino Royale at the Brighton Town Hall. This was a magnificent event and a huge amount of thanks goes to Deb Hopkins and Tania Marshall who organised the night and kept up the marketing campaign to ensure as many people could attend as possible. For those of you who weren’t able to make it, we intend to do this again next year.
Some of you would have read in the news that one of the legends of AFL, Glenn Archer, a North Melbourne champion, got caught in a scuffle with a runner at his son’s u15 game. As a parent, even if your kid is hurt, you must allow that those entrusted with dealing with such matters can do their job. We all get anxious watching our kids, just be mindful our actions are considered and don’t get you into trouble.
If anyone is able to help a couple of queries from visitors to our club who have lost items that would be helpful thanks:
A player from Waverley Park Hawks U16 girls who misplaced her Nike Football boots when at Boss James Reserve 2 weeks ago.
A goal umpire from Ajax u17 who left goal flags and a coat after a game on 18 June at Boss James.
If anyone can help please let Gavin Sharp (Secretary) know on 0413433235.
With the school holidays remember to let your Team Manager know if your child cannot play this weekend. We will have a number of teams who will struggle for numbers so we need you to your inform Team Managers ASAP.
The Women’s VAFA game was a cliffhanger last Friday night with the Hampton Rovers winning by a solitary point with the last kick of the match – a snapped goal.
Remember Kids Trivia night at Boss James July 22nd from 6.30 – 9.30pm.
And of course Rovers Local this Friday night at the club. Come in and enjoy a relaxing drink and chat from 5pm.
