After two years of no finals, the finals season is here!
Congratulations to HR Seniors Women – 2022 Premiers!
The preview to our finals excitement started last weekend when the Hampton Rovers Seniors Women’s team won the Division 2 Grand Final against the Albert Park Falcons. It was wonderful to cheer on the team at Trevor Barker Oval, Sandringham, with a big Hampton Rovers Juniors support crew. It was a tough, yet thrilling contest, with the women’s team winning by just 2 points. Congratulations on your undefeated season!
13 Hampton Rovers Juniors teams make finals
This coming weekend sees the start of the SMJFL finals content. Congratulations to 13 teams who have qualified for the finals – 4 girls teams and 9 boys/mixed teams. Good luck to everyone – regardless of the outcome, please enjoy your game and have fun! Please click here to see the schedule (scroll down). If you can, please get along to cheer our teams on this Sunday!
Spectator code of conduct
There is no doubt that the finals are an exciting time – super exciting. However, we need to remember to keep our behaviour in check and for all spectators to demonstrate excellent and sportsman-like behaviour at all times.
A reminder to all officials, spectators, and parents: please barrack for both teams in the spirit of the competition. If there are incidents, please do not approach or discuss with the other team or players; raise any concerns with your Team Manager.
Let’s work together to create a fantastic environment for our kids. If there are any incidents or concerns, these will be managed via the appropriate processes. Thank you for your support.
Seeking finals volunteers
As such, Hampton Rovers will be hosting finals over the next three weekends.
It is the Hampton Rovers responsibility to manage the grounds and ensure that all of our visitors have a great time. With only 5 HRJ committee members (with many of us with kids also playing finals at other grounds) we need your help!
We are looking for volunteers for a couple of hours, on a rotation basis, to help as:
– Ground Managers
– BBQ operators
– Floaters – to be available and help where needed!
With 550 players and close to 800 parents involved in the club, I am asking for help. Even if your team isn’t in finals this weekend, we’d love your help!
Please contact me at juniorpresident@hamptonrovers.com.au with the time that you would be available on Sunday at Boss James and your preferred role. Thank you in advance for your help!
Celebrating at The Boss – bar open
For the next three Sundays, at the completion of the junior football games (around 5.00pm), the Rovers bar will open in the club rooms at The Boss to help celebrate the end of the season. All are members are invited to come and enjoy a few drinks to celebrate the end of the 2022 season. I hope to see you there!
Finally, congratulations to all our teams! Regardless as to whether you made the finals or not, this was a great season where our HRJ community came together once more.
Good luck to all, including our teams, officials, volunteers and parents. Enjoy the weekend.
