Robbie’s pre-match instruction was a reminder that last week’s win was a result of great teamwork and encouraged the team to do the same again today. Sienna C was named captain for the match.
The start of the game saw the backline under constant pressure from the opposition. The back six all stood strong led by Tamara who repelled many entries. A spectacular mark by Sienna C was a highlight in an evenly matched quarter with neither team scoring.
The second quarter started brilliantly with Lucy M dominating in the ruck and working well with Stella who provided many forward entries. Ruby P kicked the first goal of the match, quickly followed by our captain Sienna C kicking both the second and third goal of the quarter. The girls went into the halftime break with a two goal lead.
The third quarter started well with Ava finding plenty of the ball up in the forward line to kick three points! Lucy and Sienna H then went on to kick our fourth and fifth goal of the game. Defensively we stopped the opposition from scoring with Charlie doing some strong defensive work and Juliet taking a great mark.
The opposition tried their hardest in the last quarter and kicked a couple of late goals. However Chloe kicked our sixth and final goal of the game to ensure the win.
Well done girls, consecutive wins to start the year and maybe a Gatorade shower for Michael this time!!
Once again, Robbie complimented the girls for an outstanding team effort and willingness to share the ball.
