Under 16 Div 3 vs Caulfield Bears (R5)

28 May 2019 by HRJ

After a couple of challenging weeks, the lads had held their heads high and forged onwards and upwards. This week we had a new starter playing his first game of football, Toby W, and he didn’t disappoint getting plenty of the ball and scoring his first goal. We were against the breeze in the first quarter and the backline did a great job in preventing Caulfield Bears to score a major.

All across the ground we had players winning the contest Toby Mac took some great marks in defence, Max B was being creative in looking for switches of play. Griff M with a great banana goal. Jake K, Callum B, Hamish A, Harry O all superior in the air. Angus R and Lachlan B dominant around the packs.

One area we need to work on is taking pride in our delivery – either by hand or foot – and keep working on our communication.

Fantastic to see Mitch L at the game supporting the lads after breaking his wrist last week.

Passion – Teamwork — Fun — Respect

Score
Sandy Rovers 8 14 62
Caufield Bears 2 7 19

Goals: Dan H (2), Lachlan B, Peter C, Griffin M, Vassili K, Harry O, Toby W

Best: Lachlan B, Angus R, Toby W, Ronan K, Callum B
