Under 18 Girls vs Port Melbourne (R6)

20 May 2018 by HRJ

WHEN YOU LOSE A GAME BUT REALLY WIN

Today was one of those games where despite losing on the scoreboard you really win.

As a team you won the admiration of your opponents, spectators, parents, teammates and coaches.

The effort, skills and determination was fantastic.

I was particularly pleased with the skills shown in attacking the football and gathering the ball cleanly. This set up some fantastic passages of play leading to many scoring opportunities.

The challenge for a team after a game such as this where we lose but have shown so much skill is to grow the self belief in your skills and footy knowledge.

I was super impressed with how all of the team were accountable for their opponents.

A special mention to
1. Buddy for taking on a rucking challenge and executing so well all day.
2. Maegan for a superb second half and willing herself to fight hard.
3. Shae for her last quarter getting us deep into our forward line.
4. Steph again for 4 quarters of honest effort and skill.

Also thank you to Ali for getting out of her sick bed and having a crack today.

Just a point of reinforcement. Over the past 5 weeks your skills have grown exponentially as has your game knowledge. Lets make next week as good if not better.

See you at the photos tomorrow night and again at training on Thursday.

Richard ( A very impressed coach)
