Under 9 Maroon (Sill) vs East Brighton Vampires (R10)

29 June 2018 by HRJ

With the thunder storms of last week behind us we merrily made our way to the other side of the highway for round 10 against the East Brighton Vampires. What started out as a mild day quickly turned bitterly cold.

We started strong in true Rovers spirit, with arguably the best play of the day an outstanding display of linking from our mids all the way to our first goal. It was magic to watch and we were off to a great start.

We continued with determination through the second quarter and by main break scores were in the balance. Here the cold kicked in and not only had us on the sideline shivering, it seemed to affect our little men as the Vampires went from strength to strength.

We pushed and pushed to keep possession, but as Coach Julian said we forgot the important message that there is no I in TEAM and we left with a reminder that if we forget the score the game will take care of itself.

Better luck next time guys it is always a great pleasure to watch your matches and win or lose we are right there with you.
