Footy is back after the long weekend off and the weather didn’t disappoint yet again. The build up to the football in round 8 started early this week with a club function on Thursday night at Hotel Brighton to thank the Coaches, Assistant Coaches and Team Managers across our teams. We are so privileged at Hampton Rovers to have some many great volunteers for our most important roles. We had 56 people across all age groups and representation from both junior and senior teams. On behalf of all of our kids, parents and club officials I would like to thank you all again for all you do.
Friday night saw another great night at the Rovers Local. Many parents popped in between 5-7.30pm to say hi, feed the kids or just burn some of that Friday energy off the kids before the weekend. This Friday night we have Women’s Footy under lights starting at 6.30pm. The bar will be open during the game and a BBQ will be running so please get down and support our Women’s team as a warm up to a great weekend.
Our teams had a great day on Sunday with mixed results across the age groups but plenty of smiles and fun regardless of the results. I would like to thank all those players and parents that are starting to drive the “Sweep the Sheds” culture and leave the grounds and rooms in a better state than you find them.
