And the band was playing…
♪♫ Now I gotta cut loose
Footloose, kick off the Sunday shoes
Please, Louise, pull me off of my knees
Jack, get back, come on before we crack
Lose your blues, everybody cut footloose ♬♭♪
…so we did!
150 guests channeled Kevin Bacon and carved up the dance floor at our annual One Club Rovers Gala on Saturday night.
With expansive white walls and a tall pitched ceiling, the unique Warehouse 35 was transformed into a scintillating party venue befitting our glamorous guests who sparkled in bedazzling jewels, sequins and shimmering suits. A far cry from the Pentridge grey Team Manager bibs and uniform black puffer jackets we’re used to seeing. The Senior girls and boys looked like they’d stepped straight out of a Kardashia photoshoot, glam and gorgeous!
Our fantastic hosts at Big Pig Little Pig, served us up a sumptuous dinner of American BBQ and sides (and if you haven’t eaten there before, do yourself a favour and get down there with the family!).
Around Bayside there’s just not enough places to go and have a boogie and we LOVE TO BOOGIE! Throw in a couple of sneaky tequila shots (and the other whose name rhymes with snow bob) and BOOM! Dancefloor was pumping!
Our silent auction items were a hit and raised much needed funds for our Club. Thank you to every one of you who arranged donations, we really appreciate your effort and generosity.
Big thanks to Amy Clements, the TM for the Senior Girls for organising the night with me. Thanks to both Senior and Junior Committees and also to the helpers on chair delivery and decorations. Lisa O’Leary did a fantastic job organising and running our bar, so thank you Lisa.
And lastly, the events of the last two years have been absolutely sensational because of all of you who come to support and have fun. So MWAH! MWAH! MWAH! (Especially those still standing with me at the end of the night who had the early 8am start…)
